What happened to the people who sold you processing?

Last updated 3 years ago

Did you expect your sales rep to provide support for your credit card processing? Some credit card processors offer big upfront payments and bonuses to reps to sign you up, but when you try to get someone to service your account they've moved on. And all those things they promised you verbally when they signed up your account like your rates would never be increased, or your equipment was returnable with no penalty… you find out that the actual processor isn't going to live up to everything the sales office promised. Many processors don’t even deal with selling to merchants directly, they let ISOs (independent sales offices) sell their processing for them. The majority of negative reviews online about credit card processing companies are actually about the ISO office that sold the processing. So it’s important to read any contract you sign and get customer support phone numbers for the actual processing company.
